Looking very much the vintage queen, Florence paired her delicate dress with an array of quirky accessories.

The star was spotted leaving a New York eaterie and running to catch a cab in her quirky look.

The slightly sheer dress featured a pretty floral print and layering at the bust and hips. With it’s puffed sleeves it was a tricky silhouette to pull off, but Florence looked gorgeous in her take on the summer dress.

The singer teamed her dress with some brown chunky heels which featured a thin ankle strap and tassel detail.

Accessorise me: Florence finished her look with a mock croc handbag and some chunky brown heels

Finishing her ensemble with a mock croc handbag and round shades, Florence left her trademark red hair loose and wavy with just a hint of makeup to brighten up her pale features.

Meanwhile on Tuesday Florence opted for a rather more conventional look as she took to the streets of New York.

Showing off her very long and slim legs, the 26-year-old slipped into a pair of cut-off shorts from Rokit with a simple T-shirt, almost blending into the crowd.

And on her feet she wore a pair of eye-catching snakeskin loafers while she carried a black leather bag.

The Shake It Out singer looked in high spirits as she walked along with friend Daisy Lowe who flashed her vibrantly coloured bra in a slashed at the side vest top.

The star was last seen jumping on stage to surprise cover band Sourberry during their rendition of Daft Punk’s Get Lucky in South London earlier this month.

Florence delighted fans as she enjoyed a shot of tequila mid song and ended her impromptu performance by awkwardly crowd surfing back to her position among them.

Tap into your girly side in a floaty floral dress

Florence Welch is the queen of vintage styling. Just check out her platform loafers, the snakeskin bag, the John Lennon style sunglasses and the extremely pretty sheer floral dress.

We happen to know that this dress actually belongs to Florence's friend Daisy Lowe and Ms Welch has sneakily borrowed it without asking. Let's hope their friendship can survive the test!

Flirty florals have been the major story of SS/13 with designers like Erdem, Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana all sending beautiful blooms down their runways. Whether you go oversized or ditzy and dainty, a floral print is a must have this summer.

And we all know that 'vintage' never goes out of style. But if you want the look and can't be bothered rooting around market rails or charity shops then why not take a look at our vintage inspired dresses below. They're all brand new and on the high street so you can steal Flo's style without the hassle.

Meanwhile it was reported last month that Florence may be set to make a name for herself as an actress, after it was claimed she is being considered for a leading role in the new upcoming Star Wars trilogy.

An insider told The Sun newspaper at the time: 'We think Florence has the exact style we are looking for.

'She has done some acting but it was her singing on stage that initially caught the eye.

'Almost every actress in Hollywood wants a role in the new movies but we are keen to cast people who are unexpected.'
