Actress Naomi Watts Bio - A little about Naomi
Naomi Watts was born in Shoreham, England on September 28, 1968. In her teenage years, she and her family immigrated to Australia. During her acting career, Naomi Watts has undertaken a variety of film roles ranging from comedy to horror, from small independent films to huge epics. Watts made her first film appearance in the film "For Love Alone" in 1986. In her following film, she relished the opportunity to work with her close friend Nicole Kidman in the boarding school film "Flirting" in 1991. However, Watt's film career did not receive substantial recognition until 2001 when she starred in the David Lynch movie "Mulholland Dr." She was nominated for an Academy Award for the movie "21 Grams" in 2003 following a stellar performance opposite Benicio del Toro and Sean Penn.
Following a break from acting, Watts came back to work in "The International," her first assignment since giving birth. In April 2010, she stated that she would love to have another child if she was guaranteed to have a girl. She considered adapting Buddhism after being influenced during the making of the movie "The Painted Veil." Because of her repeated roles in film remakes, Watts has been labeled the "queen of remakes." Watts stated that discussion has taken place but nothing has come to fruition at the moment.
What may be Watts' most demanding role to date is that of the late Princess Diana. The movie, initially titled "Caught in Flight", but now simply entitled "Diana" focuses on the last two year's of the late Princess's life, as well as her affair with heart surgeon Hasnat Khan. The moving is being shot in England and when Watts was cast as the late Princess, director Hirschbiegel stated that he is pleased to have such a wonderful actress who exemplifies humanity, empathy, and warmth, to play such a world icon as Princess Diana.
