While several actors have been vying for a role in Hollywood, Academy Award winning director Danis Tanović of No Man’s Land fame recently signed on Emraan Hashmi for his ambitious next, under the collaborative banner of several huge production houses.
Having directed the cult film that went on to win the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film,the Bosnian writer/ director was keen on signing the actor after watching several of his films, for his next, backed by ASAP Films (France) , DAR Motion Pictures, Sikhya Entertainment and AKFPL (Anurag Kashyap Films Pvt Ltd).
Says a source, “Emraan has never tried to fit into a conventional stereotype and has always
been the one to experiment –Be it Shanghai, OUATIM or his cult murder thriller series Emraan has always pushed the envelope when it comes to doing something novel.While several actors shyed again from being a part of the heroine-centric blockbuster The Dirty Picture, Emraan agreed and walked away with stellar reviews for the same. Danis is looking at doing some great work with Emraan, who he looks upon as one of the most talented actors he’s come across.”
Producer Guneet Monga of Anurag Kashyap Films Pvt Ltd mentions, “ Emraan is a very good actor and we are excited to be working together. It will be very interesting to see the combination of an Indian star, who so popular among the masses working with an Oscar-winning Director in an International film. We are looking forward to a great collaboration.”
