Rough shape or not, from the moment Aniston saw the house, she knew it was hers, though it took the woman who owned it seven months to agree to sell it. “I never doubted the house would be mine one day,” the actress remembers.
Why was she so sure it was right for her? She says it was the front doors: big, proud, dramatic 14-foot-tall doors. “I can’t tell you specifically the feeling I had when I walked through the doors for the first time, except to say I knew I was home.”

It’s enough stone, quips Shadley, to create “our own little Getty.”

Wow, that’s a big critter! At the MTV Video Music Awards festival a new clip of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” was introduced by the cast, including “moving on” Robert Pattinson.

“I thought we’d be safe forever, but forever isn’t as long as I’d hoped,” says a solemn Bella.

Courtney Love’s story could grab a Broadway spotlight, says manager Sam Lutfi in suit against Britney Spears

It took a witness, under oath, to reveal Courtney Love’s plans for the Great White Way.
Music industry manager Sam Lutfi — who apparently has a knack for troubled pop stars — was testifying against his former client Britney Spears Wednesday when plans for the Hole singer’s Broadway debut slipped out.
“[Courtney Love and I] are currently working on a possible motion picture or Broadway musical based on the Nirvana catalogue, based on her life and Kurt Cobain’s,” Lutfi testified in the L.A. court where he’s suing Spears and her parents for libel and breach of contract, along with millions in unpaid management fees.
Lutfi, who claims he was hired by the “X Factor” judge as her manager in 2007 and 2008, said that he “currently co-manage[s] Ms. Love … She’s an accomplished actress.”
Love, of course, is the 48-year-old widow of the late Nirvana singer who killed himself in 1994.
Despite his testimony, after court Lutfi tried to backpedal about the plan.
A spokesman for Love, who has 15 acting credits to her name on the IMDB website, including “The People Vs. Larry Flynt,” had no comment on any of Lutfi’s statements, but a source close to the bleached-blond “Hole” singer confirms Lutfi is indeed her co-manager.
“She’s been talking about doing a movie or play about her life with Kurt [Cobain] for a long time,” says the insider, who adds that, “So far, nothing has materialized from it.”
“It’s an idea,” Lutfi told the News’ Nancy Dillon in the courthouse after testifying, when asked what stage the potential motion picture or play is in. “I’m sorry. I can’t say anything more.”
The source close to Love says “it’s been her dream to get her side of the story out” but that she’s “never made any serious actions to do it.”
In 2006 she did take some serious actions to pad her bank account, however, by reportedly selling a significant share of the rights to Nirvana’s publishing catalogue (which Cobain had left to her and their daughter, Frances Bean) to Larry Mestel of Primary Wave Music Publishing. Love reportedly also sold the exclusive rights to distribute Nirvana’s entire catalogue to Primary Wave.

A Christian Dior mascara ad featuring the actress Natalie Portman has been banned in the UK.
Christian Dior received a lashing from UK’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for exaggerating the effects if its mascara.
The ad for the the brand’s DiorShow New Look, which featured spokesmodel and actress Natalie Portman showing off long ,dark eyelashes, has been banned in the United Kingdom for misleading customers.

Beauty foe L’Oreal complained to the ASA, according to the ruling on the regulator's website.
Dior has denied that they enhanced Portman’s lashes -- sort of.
While they denied using false eyelashes to fluff her flutterers, they admitted to retouching the lashes in Photoshop to "separate/increase the length and curve of a number of her lashes and to replace/fill a number of missing or damaged lashes, for a more stylised, uniform and tidy effect.”
According to Dior, that’s just standard procedure.

"[We] did not consider that the post-production techniques went beyond the likely consumer expectations of what was achievable using the product," a spokesperson said.
The ASA wasn’t buying it.
"We considered that the ad's claims 'Lash-multiplying effect volume and care mascara', '... an unrivalled lash creator effect' and 'delivers spectacular volume-multiplying effect, lash by lash', particularly in conjunction with the image of Natalie Portman's eye lashes, would be understood to mean that the mascara could lengthen the lashes, as well as separate them, increase their thickness and volume, and generally enhance lash appearance,” a spokesperson said, regarding the ruling.
Dior had not received any complaints from customers regarding the ad.

The ASA has thrown the hammer at a number of beauty companies, banning ads for cosmetics, clothing and fragrances.
A clothing company called Drop Dead came under fire for showing a model who appeared "underweight and looked anorexic.”
Melanie Thierry’s dizzying turn in an ad for the YSL fragrance Opium was banned because it appeared to simulate druge use.

Nothing says a successful night on “Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars” quite like Gilles Marini on the dance floor, clad in nothing but a pair of very tight, very short boxer briefs.
So Tuesday was a good night.
Gilles, Kirstie Alley, Kelly Monaco and Emmitt Smith took the stage for their group freestyle dance, to infectious South Korean hit “Gangnam Style.”
And though the result was dubbed a “hot mess” by judge Carrie Ann Inaba, it was clear from the goofy grins on the judges’ faces that it was the most fun they’d had in a while.
“It wasn’t timed at all, it wasn’t together, but it was fun,” head judge Len Goodman allowed.
“Gilles, give me that towel! I’m wetting myself,” third judge Bruno Tonioli purred, and Gilles acquiesced, doffing his barely there towel and tossing it toward the judges table.
Sadly, however, the group’s very fun routine still failed to pull in as high a score as Monday night’s group freestyle to “Call Me Maybe,” with just 27 out of 30, as compared to Team Call Me Maybe’s 29.5 out of 30.
Still, the evening ultimately balanced itself out, with the four cheerleader-and-jock costumed contestants from Monday night’s group dance performing their individual routines in the second half of this week’s two-part performance.

While Sabrina Bryan managed to waltz away with an impressive 29 out of 30, the other three celebrities - Melissa Rycroft, Apolo Ohno and Shawn Johnson - only received 27 out of 30 for their good-but-not-great efforts.
Shawn in particular, who performed a graceful rumba to Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On,” received mixed reviews from the judges.
Carrie Ann, who typically raved about the Olympic gymnasts’ natural dancing abilities, dinged Shawn and partner Derek Hough for performing a lift (which Bruno argued was a catch), and Len said he felt let down.
“I had great expectations, but instead by the end I got a bleak house,” the head judge bemoaned.
On the other hand, for Apolo, Len found a great dancer whereas Carrie Ann seemed disappointed.

“Something’s not quite right,” she commented. “Maybe you two need to work on your chemistry.”
Or maybe, if Carrie Ann’s reaction to Gilles was any indication, someone just needs to wear a little less clothing, eh?
