It’s never ideal being the first one to arrive at a party, which is why people often try to be fashionably late.
But Helen Flanagan took the expression to a whole new level when she attended Brooke Vincent’s birthday party on Saturday evening.
The 22-year-old lived up to her somewhat ditzy reputation as she managed to lock herself out of her house, resulting in her making a dramatic entrance hours after the rest of the guests and the birthday girl herself.
Better late than never: Helen Flanagan stole the show at Brooke Vincent's party on Saturday with her late arrival
Making sure she didn’t come across as just plain rude, the former Coronation Street star tweeted Brooke, who was celebrating turning 21.
But it didn’t seem to bother Brooke who happily posed up with her former co-star when she did finally arrive.
Not worried: Fortunately Brooke didn't seem to mind that Helen was so late to her 21st birthday party
And as if her late entrance wasn’t enough to turn heads, Helen pulled out all the stops when it came to her outfit.
The actress looked unusually demure wearing an electric blue bandeau dress in a skater style.
Cinching in at the waist it really flattered her figure and showed off a little bit of cleavage without being over the top.
Flattering: Helen looked great in her blue skater style dress which really flattering her figure
Lock out: Helen tweeted Brooke to let her know that she was running late
Her long and tanned legs were on show and elongated by a pair of nude coloured platform heels.
The pretty blonde tied her hair off her face in her favourite style – a top knot – and she kept her make-up relatively demure for a change.
Helen completed her look with a small bright pink handbag and she carried a bag from Selfridges no doubt with a little gift for her friend.
Mistake: Helen admitted the reason she was late was because she managed to lock herself out of her house
Favourite style: Helen wore her hair off her face in a top knot, which is one of her favourite ways to wear it
Her late arrival meant the guests were leaving the first venue of the evening and heading to a club to continue partying.
She also missed out on seeing the birthday girl in the gorgeous emerald gown she wore earlier in the evening before changing into her shorter yellow one.
Earlier in the week, Helen had once again lived up to her blonde stereotype by tweeting: 'Who knew you needed engine oil. lol you learn something knew every day.'
She later added: 'I'm a girly girl y would i know about engine oil?? None of my other cars before did I need engine oil. Jokes tho x'
Lady like: Helen managed to get into her car without flashing anything and in a very ladylike manner
