LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Channing Tatum continues to have the “Magic.”
The
32-year-old actor has been named Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine,
but Channing was stunned to find out he’d taken home the coveted honor,
previously won by Bradley Cooper in 2011.
“My
first thought was, ‘Y’all are messing with me,’” Channing, who has been
married to actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum since 2009, told the mag. “I told
Jenna after we’d been in the bathtub washing our dogs because they’d
gotten skunked.”
“She was like, ‘What?’” The “Magic Mike” star recalled, adding, “Yeah, she calls me [the Sexiest Man Alive] now.”
The big screen hunk, who hails from Alabama, said he and Jenna are looking forward to starting a family.
“I’m
ready; I think she’s ready,” he said. “The first number that pops into
my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we’ll see
where we go after that.”
Channing may have his sights set on a large family, Jenna on the on the other hand wants to start off small.
“It’s
really easy for us guys to say, ‘I want like 15 kids,’” he explained.
“Jenna will be like, ‘Well you better get another wife!’” The
actor, who is known for his physique, is currently training to play an
Olympic athlete in 2013’s “Foxcatcher,” with Steve Carell and Mark
Ruffalo.
“I like to be lean. If I
get too bulky I can’t move well and I like to move,” he said. “When I’m
not training, I get really round and soft.”
Jenna told the mag that her husband is so much more than just the Sexiest Man Alive.
“People
know him to be fun and sexy, but they don’t know how emotionally deep
and spiritually open he is,” the 31-year-old actress told the mag. “He
is such an open-hearted person; what you see is what you get.”
