LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Despite
reports of more trouble for Lindsay Lohan, the headline-making star
says she’s doing well and looking forward to continuing to work and
learn from her past.
The
26-year-old appeared on “Good Morning America” on Friday, promoting her
upcoming Lifetime movie, “Liz & Dick,” which was daunting for the
actress.
“It’s always
nerve-wracking to play someone that’s such an incredible force. … I was
kind of nervous to see what people would think of it,” she told Amy
Robach.
Amy didn’t shy away from asking Lindsay some pointed questions.
“Liz
Taylor’s life was out of control at times. And to be honest, so has
yours. From the moment you step out of your house there’s oftentimes
drama,” she told the actress. “Do you think that your life and career
may have been different - would have been different - without the
constant scrutiny?”
“Um, obviously
yes, to a certain extent. But I think that everyone goes through things
in life. I like to learn from my mistakes. But I wouldn’t be who I am
today if I hadn’t gone through certain things. And everything happens
for a reason, good or bad,” the actress said. “So you can just, you
know, take what you’ve learned from it and move forward.”
When asked who she seeks support from, Lindsay said her family is her go to group.
“Elizabeth Taylor actually went to her mother a lot,” she explained. “I’m pretty much the same. My mom and my siblings.”
As
for her new half-sister, Ashley Horn, 17, who was revealed to be
Michael Lohan’s daughter this week on “The Trisha Goddard Show,” Lindsay
said she was unaware of her until asked about her.
“I
didn’t even hear that, so thanks for the news. I don’t pay attention to
any of it,” she said. “I don’t really want to get into that… I want to
stay on the positive side of things.”
Lindsay simply wants to focus on work.
“I
keep calling my agents saying, ‘Keep me on set!’ Safer that way,” she
said. “I’m in a great place. I just want to move forward. Keep working.
I’m in the process of kind of moving and spending time with my family
and just being happy.”
