LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- It’s a sad day for young love — Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have called it quits.
The Hollywood power couple quietly broke up roughly one week ago, a source told E! Online, which was first to report the news.
“Because of their crazy schedules, it was getting harder and harder to maintain a relationship,” the source said.
Additionally, a source for People said Selena was the one who initiated the breakup.
“She
broke up with him about a week ago,” the source told the mag. “With
them being apart so much it got complicated. She had some trust issues.”
Adding, “It’s not easy, but the relationship needed to end.”
Justin,
18, and Selena, 20, first stepped out as a couple in February 2011,
after months of keeping their relationship under wraps.
During
an October interview with Oprah (which will air November 25 on OWN),
the Biebs said he always tried to make sure Selena felt comfortable and
wanted.
“Sometimes… we gotta take
the back exits and do different things, but I never make her separate
from me, ‘cause I don’t want her to ever feel like I’m ashamed of her,”
he said. “I feel like a lot of guys do that, especially in the business.
They don’t want to be seen with the girl, so they’ll make them ride in
separate cars and do all that getaway stuff. [When] we get away, we’re
getting away together.”
However,
at the 2012 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York City on Wednesday
night, the “As Long As You Love Me” singer (who performed at the famed
lingerie show) told Access Hollywood he was finding himself distracted with
the likes of Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima and more lovely ladies
strutting past him, while wearing nothing but strategically placed lace.
“I’m pretty focused. I’m like 98 percent focused,” he told Access, before admitting, “Two percent focus is on the chicks.”
And, when asked if he picked up any sexy Victoria’s Secret garb for Selena, he quickly answered, ““No shopping for me. No.” source internet....
