FIRST LOOK: Taylor Swift meets Zooey Deschanel as she appears in New Girl's Season 2 finale wedding episode

She has certainly made an impression on the entertainment scene with her tales about love.

So it’s somewhat appropriate that Taylor Swift has filmed her cameo appearance on New Girl’s wedding episode.

The 23-year-old singer can be seen in a newly released screen shot from the Season 2 finale, in conversation with the show’s main character.

The country star plays a woman named Elaine, however appears with a rather similar look to her real life personality.
With her hands enthusiastically moving as she chats to Zooey Deschanel’s Jess character, Taylor dons a cream lacy frock with a peach sash around the waist.

 

She accompanies the feminine look with her usual fringed blonde locks, featuring loose ringlets at the end.
Meanwhile Zooey isn’t wearing her normal attire for the comedy programme. 

Here comes the bride: The singer turns up to the wedding of Cece, played by Hannah Simone

She can be seen draped in a blue and pink sari, with her brunette locks tied back into a high ponytail and extravagant drop earrings.
Jess is clearly dressed festively to celebrate the nuptials of her Indian best friend CeCe, played by Hannah Simone, who is tying the knot with Shivrang (Satya Bhabha).
Speaking to Ryan Seacrest last month she revealed that Taylor’s role will have viewers chuckling.
‘She was so funny. She plays Elaine and she’s at Cece’s wedding and you’ll just have to tune in to see what Elaine does,’ she hinted.
‘Some interesting things happen in the finale that are unexpected.’

Regarding the episode to be aired on May 14, the programme creator reveals that getting the musician on board was a huge personal achievement.
Liz Meriwether explained to Entertainment Weekly: ‘I’m a huge fan of hers. I was fully geeking out about meeting [Taylor]. I didn’t go to meet her right away because I kind of had to compose myself — there’s a 14-year-old girl inside of me.’
New Girl has referred to the star a few times now in its history - which has only been since September 2012 – even featuring her tune 22 in one scene.
Apparently Taylor is a fan of the cast too and was reeling off her favourite quotes when she met them.
‘She was quoting lines to us from the show. It was a really exciting night,’ Liz explained.

It’s a given that she knows how to deliver a catchy song to the public but the country singer can also impress in the acting field.
Liz revealed that she didn’t struggle at all with the script and happily took on a few embellishments.
‘She kind of came and nailed it. We love bringing in guest stars, but we really try to make it feel like they’re part of the show and it’s not just stunt casting,’ she clarified.
‘She did a little bit of a riff on one of her songs.’

Jake Johnson – who portrays Nick Miller in the show – jokingly complained that she handled her day on set like she had been doing it for years.
He said: ‘She came in and is really nice. It’s not an easy scene. There were probably 70 extras there — though I’m sure she performs to so much bigger [crowds] than that on a regular basis. 
‘She had, like, a little monologue and delivered it perfectly. Liz gave her alternative jokes and lines, she delivered them all perfectly. It was frustrating!’
