Six months before Nicole Eggart turned 40, she had her second child Keegan.
After
months of struggling to lose the baby weight, the now 41-year-old
actress has the competitive reality show Splash to thank.Set to compete in the season finale on Tuesday, the former Baywatch babe believes she may have missed what she was meant to do with her life - and Splash made her realise it.
Shaping up: Nicole Eggert shared with People
Magazine on Thursday how the competitive diving show Splash has helped
her shed pounds and find her missed calling
'The more I do these things, the more I realise I have a passion for it.'
Though she dropped 35 pounds before starting the show, she credits the required rigorous workouts for helping her become even more fit.
Now and then: The former Baywatch babe has whittled down to nearly the size she was when she donned the teeny orange swimsuit
'But it did wonders for my body,' she said.
And wonders is perhaps what she needed after a public struggle to lose her baby weight.
'I was eating and exercising but something was off. I saw a doctor and he said I had a hormonal imbalance,' she opened up with People about.
Before the transformation: Pictured in April of
2011, the actress was in the midst of a pregnancy that saw her going
from 98lbs to 160lbs
'It's shallow because the person inside is the same person. Dilyn knew me at 98 pounds and she knew me at 160 pounds when I was pregnant with Keegan.
'When the paparazzi would follow me and judge me it really upset her.'
Though the show has helped her body, its dangerous stunts have also hurt her.
A dive gone wrong landed her with bruising and swelling on her back and kidneys, yet the actress vehemently denies the sport's danger.
Weighty
matters: Though the actress struggled to lose weight after having her
second daughter Keegan, 20 months old, she credits part of her body's
transformation to Splash practises
What kept her going after her most recent injury was wanting to set a good example for her daughters.
'I have this 'I can' attitude and I wanted to show my daughters what you can do, not what you can't do. I wanted them to see that pushing yourself is so rewarding.'
