Jennifer Lawrence, Kristen Stewart, & Emma Watson: Is Being BFFs Good for Business?

Kristen Stewart, Jennifer Lawrence, and Emma Watson have a lot in common — 22-year-old actresses don't often star in billion-dollar film franchises. So when we heard the three recently sat down for a meal together, we were naturally curious about the topic of conversation. As much fun as it would be to imagine otherwise, it sounds like there wasn't much Potter vs Hunger Games vs Twilight trash talk.

"I think people assume that actresses don't want to [be friends]," Stewart told US magazine when reflecting on the night out. So what does she think of Lawrence? "She's so cool. I was a lot younger than her when I first sort of entered this world of franchise land, and I don't know, I guess we sort of both went, 'Wow, this is so weird.' We actually sat in a corner with Emma Watson as well, the three of us. We were like, 'Wow this is strange. This is really cool.'"

Given the natural competition between properties, and the rabid, possessive fan followings for each, is a sense of rivalry good for business? It certainly sold magazines and generated pageviews when the tabloids manufactured a feud between Lawrence and Stewart that never really existed. But Hollywood PR specialist Liam Collopy argues friendship is even better for business.

"The saying is true that 'you are known by the company you keep,' and nowhere is this more true than Hollywood. From the Rat Pack to the Brat Pack to Stewart, Lawrence, and Watson, Hollywood stars love to mix, mingle and even do business. Remember Planet Hollywood pals Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Bruce, and Demi? When you’ve gained entry into one of these elite circles, you know that you’ve really made it in Hollywood.”

Is the Stewart, Lawrence, Watson friendship the start of a young Hollywood empire or does it detract from their individual mystique? Weigh in down below in the comments with your take.
